The Boot Camp is a state - run institution for young women who are first - time offenders. Here they are given a chance to spend just several months of intense rehabilitative training rather than serve several years in prison. |

The punishments for breaking camp discipline are generally accepted without much resistance, since any opposition to camp authorities invites a return to prison to serve out the full sentence.
But some girls take the serious intent of the camp a bit too lightly at first.

Three young women must undergo punishment for having ignored the camp rule against drinking.
Each one is secured to a rough wooden frame and rigorously disciplined.
The first one is given a lengthy whipping, and the other two - for having smuggled liquor into the camp in the first place - are severely beaten with a freshly peeled cane.
