				The Boot Camp is a state - run institution for young women who are first - time offenders. Here they are given a chance to spend just several months of intense rehabilitative training rather than serve several years in prison.
				The punishments for breaking camp discipline are generally accepted without much resistance, since any opposition to camp authorities invites a return to prison to serve out the full sentence. But some girls take the serious intent of the camp a bit too lightly at first.
				Three young women must undergo punishment for having ignored the camp rule against drinking. Each one is secured to a rough wooden frame and rigorously disciplined. The first one is given a lengthy whipping, and the other two - for having smuggled liquor into the camp in the first place - are severely beaten with a freshly peeled cane.
